Today’s technology is developing rapidly, enabling quicker change and advancement, and accelerating the rate of change. However, there are many more changes that have occurred this year because of the COVID-19 epidemic.

This has made IT (Information Technology) professionals recognize that their job will alter in the contactless world of the future. Additionally, an IT professional in 2023-2024 have been continually learning new things (out of necessity if not desire).

How does this affect you? It entails keeping up with the newest technological trends and emerging technologies. Keep an eye on the future to determine the talents you will need to have to find a stable job and figure out how to get there.

The majority of the world’s IT workforce is kicking back and working from home as everyone bends to the global pandemic. Here are the top upcoming technological trends you should keep an eye out for in 2024 if you want to maximize your time spent at home and even land one of the new jobs that will be generated by them. These trends include:

Computing Power

In 2024, computing power will only increase even more. Our cloud infrastructure has improved, and many companies are switching to the cloud.

Additionally, there is a push for better networks: 6G is coming, and 5G is currently being rolled out. That translates to even more power for our smartphones, automobiles, and wearable technology.

Smarter Devices

We can now make smarter devices thanks to increasing computer power. We now have self-driving cars, intelligent televisions, and more advanced robots that can work alongside people to complete a wider range of tasks.

The proliferation of smart devices will continue to gain steam in 2024, and intelligent home robots will make their debut.

Quantum Computing

Machines are now able to handle information in a way that is fundamentally different from how conventional computers do so because of the trend of quantum computing, which involves processing information that is represented by certain quantum states.

A trillion times more computing power than what is currently available from the most sophisticated supercomputers could be ours thanks to quantum computing.

I believe quantum computing will radically alter how we tackle issues like organization, portfolio management, and medication development by the year 2024.

Datafication

Data is a major enabler for all these developments. Because of all the digitization that has occurred in our world, we now have access to enormous amounts of data, and data is now the most important business asset for every organization. We can use data to better understand our customers, investigate significant trends, and figure out what works in our organizations.

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Now, businesses and researchers are utilizing all their data and computing capacity to offer the world superior AI capabilities.

Machine vision is one of the major trends in AI. Computers now exist that can see and identify objects in a picture or video. Large strides are also being made in language processing, allowing machines to recognize human voices and communicate back to us.

This year, low- or no-code will also be an extremely popular trend. We will be able to create amazing applications by building our AI utilizing drag-and-drop graphical user interfaces.
